This Privacy Policy describes how AstroPlanner ("we", "us", "the service") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the application at astroplanner.co.

1. Information we collect

Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and Google profile picture URL.
Application data. Telescope specifications, observing location, and observation diary entries (notes, ratings, photo references) that you create within the app.
Technical data. Basic request metadata (timestamps, IP address) handled by our hosting and authentication providers.

2. How we use information

To authenticate you and persist your settings and observation diary across sessions and devices.
To compute personalized night planning recommendations based on your telescope, location, and selected dates.
To maintain and improve the service.

3. How we store and share information

Account information and application data are stored using Supabase (auth and database). The application also queries third-party services to provide functionality:

Google for OAuth sign-in.
Open-Meteo for weather and cloud cover forecasts (anonymous, location-only).
OpenStreetMap / Overpass API for location search (anonymous queries).

We do not sell your data. We do not share your personal information with third parties for advertising purposes.

4. Data retention and deletion

Your account data is retained while your account is active. To delete your account and associated data, contact us at the email below.

5. Cookies and tracking

We use only the cookies and local storage required to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. We do not use third-party tracking or advertising cookies.

6. Children

AstroPlanner is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
